| Description -- |
Purpose For the Russian Cinnamon Outcross line for a tighter linebreeding to further examine any issues that may have surfaced with this outcross. |
Comments April 22 - Wonderful delivered five pups, two of which were stillborn. One was cold and not being cared for. The other two are alive and quite loud. Care was taken to "revive" the cold pup but his outcome is not certain at this time. The two lively babies began nursing within an hour of birth. At this time we do not believe there will be any availability out of this litter. April 23 - We lost one boy in the night, but not the one that was doing poorly. The remaining boy and girl are doing great with full milk bellies. Since they were born on Earth Day we are naming them in accordance with that. Terra Firma is Latin for "Solid Earth" and Kosmikos is Greek for "Belonging to the World", which is particularly special considering the measures that needed to be taken to keep him here on earth. Both will remain with me at the rattery. I think the reason for such losses is due to the fact that Wonderful is 16 months old which is the uppermost age you want to breed a litter. Her last litter (another rather small litter) was 9 months ago and that is quite a long span of time between litters. Mom and the remaining babies are doing great. May 5 - The babies are doing great and growing larger everyday. They started opening their eyes on day 11 and are already eagerly adventuring around. May 17 - The babies have received their first nail clipping session and are doing great learning how to ride shoulders. June 2 - These two "golden children" are 6 weeks old tomorrow. They've been an absolute joy to have around. It is so amazing to watch them grow and progress over the weeks without having to constantly eye them for picking who will stay and who will go. Their features are beginning to level out now and I am looking forward to watching them mature. June 16 - 8 week photos are up! They're starting to fill out quite a bit. Kosmikos' fur is very coarse and he is very chunky. Terra's nose is taunting me like Pinocchio. |
