These girls came from a major rescue that happened in Menlo Park,
California in Spring of 2003. A man with obvious mental illness
hoarded hundreds of rats and mice in his Menlo Park home,
and let them freely breed with one another. The cagebars on his cages
were large enough that
the rodents were never really contained, and they free roamed the
house.
Cali, Mayflower and Monkey were rescued as teeny pups so they
don't have any residual effects from being in that house. When we
first got them they were hard to tame down (except for Monkey) but they
have all settled in very nicely and are some of the most affectionate
rats.
Health Notes:
All remain healthy.
